Hey, we’re Darcy and Ben - founders of Primed To Perform.
As working professionals ourselves, we fully understand the physical and mental demands placed on performers. We’ve trained, auditioned, toured, burned out, picked up injuries, and been told to accept that this was just “part of the job”.
Throughout her training, Darcy struggled with recurring injuries that meant time away from classes and auditions, leading her to label herself as ‘injury prone’. Ben couldn’t figure out how to build a stronger, more confident frame and was repeatedly warned that gym training would ruin his dancing.
Then we met while performing on the UK and International Tour of The Rocky Horror Show - and realised just how outdated and limiting much of the industry advice around training and nutrition for performers really was.
So we did something about it.
While performing over 500 shows, we built and refined a smarter approach to strength, nutrition, and recovery - one that supports performance rather than breaking it down.

Over the last 5 years, we’ve:
- Coached 250+ performers across the full spectrum of the industry
- Supported dancers, musical theatre performers, drama school students, and touring professionals
- Helped performers become stronger, more resilient, and more confident in their bodies - allowing them to maintain show fitness and book their next job
When we say we understand this industry, we mean it. We live it, continue training within it, and help performers navigate its demands every single day.
Our mission is simple:
To help performers build strong, resilient bodies that support long,
sustainable careers.
